I guess I should have realized this - deviantArt really isn't much different than other social networking websites. Once something gets popular, or "in," it will only continue to be popular, even to an extent where there is too much of it. Example - Naruto fan-art. Yeah, it's a fine anime/manga series, I myself love Naruto.. especially the manga (on Episode 448 x3). Yet being popular does not mean that every five entries of fan-art has to be Naruto related.
What the hell? I am growing sick of this place, where the hell did all the people who actually have creativity went? Do we, as humans, not define ourselves as unique in ourselves in every way? Where the hell did originality go? Yeah, fine art means fine art, doesn't matter what kind it is - but fine art has its own definition, and doing what others have done miiiiiiiiiiilions of times is NOT in the definition of fine art. What, the, hell? Same on Youtube or Facebook.. there really isn't much difference between these social networking jibber jabbers - popular things will only get more popular.. sometimes to an annoying state.
Guys. This situation is critical, we're literally dying in a state of Naruto infestation. People, get back on your feet, think of the future of art.. and the future does not have to do with a guy with an orange spirally mask, or a boy with yellow hair that turns into a fox with nine tails.
Also.. end the other infestation of short, useless comments of art. How the hell does "oh your art is great" sound good? I think it actually sounds insulting and embaressing. You take the time and effort to create your fine piece of art, and in the end, all you get is the shit "Oh I love everything in your gallery!!1111one." You deserve better recognition than that bunch of bullcrap.
If you cannot use the time to enjoy and think about and critique art, then don't try to dump your valuable minutes into creating bullshit statements like "I love your art!" Enough is enough!
Where has originality and thoughtfulness gone to? Where the hell did it go?
